I did mine by putting the breaker bar into the ground and cranking the engine a couple of times

this was a waste of time how many of us have the option of have a hoist to remove engine let alone put it on a stand im think it would of worked if while using the breaker bar and using a steel pipe for more added torque not a pvc pipe ,standing engine was not a good idea or laying it flat were not good ideas most like me will have to do this while engine is in car

I have always used an impact to snap these pulley bolts loose. Almost always works.

Where did you get the repair instruction documents?

On the 2013-2016 you only need to remove the coolant overflow tank and bracket, the idler/tensioner pulley(one bolt and one 8 mm hex) and then 6 bolts to remove the water pump. In theory you can do this all from the top but I took the right wheel off. Check service bulletin 17-063, known issue for those years. Ours broke on holiday at 200k kms. Otherwise this was a helpful video👍

On my 2010 CX9, I have a 3 piece driveshaft. They do sell the 2 bearing hangars online but From what I gather, the driveshaft doesn't come apart like the 2 piece driveshaft. I didn't want to take a chance so I ordered the whole driveshaft assembly which can be had on Ebay for $250US. I thought that was a reasonable price for the whole assembly, plus I get the added benefit of all new U-joints. The car has 190,000 miles on it but still runs like it's brand new. I hate changing out U-joints.

I personaly would have cracked the bleeder screw open when pushing the piston back in, to not contaminate resevoir or accumulator with old fluid and possible small particulates

Wrong way to do it. That will cause a very uneven surface. You gotta use the flattest surface you can find that is bigger than the head itself for this technique to work. For the block, you need to use a flat tile that is aprox. half the size of the surface area.
